CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS
The Curriculum
CDC professionals use The Early Learning Modules to provide developmentally appropriate activities that nurture children socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually to reach child development milestones and school readiness skills.
Eligibility
CDC facilities are open to children of active-duty service members, active reservists, Department of Defense employees and DoD contractors. The sponsor must provide proof of eligibility and employment. Military families seeking child care within Air Force District Washington can make a request online at MilitaryChildCare.com.
The purpose of military child care is to support the mission of the DoD by serving DoD-affiliated families so that they may fulfill their military or DoD-related duties. In February 2020, the Office of the Secretary of Defense issued a memo to update the priority system and clarify when military families will receive priority access to child care, including supplanting lower-priority families with children in care. Read those changes here: DoD Priority Changes
Fees
Fees are based on the DoD and Department of the Air Force annual fee policy and on total family income. Parent fees may not be adjusted more than once a year. Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling is in the high-market adjustment area and fees are based on Total Family Income.
